Joshua. Sin Destroys Your Purpose

Sin confuses. SIin alienates us from God. Sin hardens our heart. Sin compounds defeat.

Because of sin, Israel lost the battle. Because Israel lost the battle Joshua thought God was against him. Because Joshua thought God was against him he felt hopeless. Because Joshua felt hopeless he was ready to give up. Sin’s purpose is to separate us from our created purpose. Sin’s purpose is to wreck us. Sin’s purpose is to enslave us. Sin’s purpose is to blind us to the goodness of God. Sin’s purpose is to disorder our desires from righteous affections to desires that lead to death. Sin’s purpose is to confuse and condemn - to convince us to believe lies and doubt Truth.

Sin’s purpose is to make us sinners.

But God's purpose for us in Christ Jesus is to make us righteous.

"But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe." - Romans 3:21-22

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” - Romans 6:23.
